Point-to-point course
You finish in a different place than you start, so plan for transport back to your car or lodging.
Point-to-point logistics with race-organized shuttles simplify the course, but a rental car is essential for Hood River–Parkdale travel and relay runners driving to Aqueduct. No rideshare in Parkdale.
Getting around
- Crew access — Aqueduct Aid Station
Only crew access point; drop bags also available here; runners pass through twice.
Hood River has strong lodging, restaurants, and breweries 22 min from the finish. Friday packet pickup at Solera Brewery (adjacent to Red Barn Park) is worth building the itinerary around. Arrive Friday to avoid race-morning stress.
Best for / avoid if
Best for
- Runners who thrive on technical descent
- Pacific Northwest trail running fans
- Runners seeking a well-organized Go Beyond Racing event
- Runners comfortable with early morning shuttles and alpine starts
- trail runners
- mountain scenery seekers
- those seeking net-downhill courses
Avoid if
- Your quads aren't trained for 7,200–10,600 ft of descent
- You need crew access beyond a single midpoint
- You dislike point-to-point logistics and early-morning shuttles
- you dislike technical downhills
- want easy access to large city amenities
First-timer mistakes
Underestimating the descents — the 'net downhill' framing hides serious climbing in the first half and a brutal 2,000 ft final plunge; also missing that bib pickup is NOT at the start line (Red Barn Park or Friday packet pickup only).
